Courtney's Card...

Today I received a call from a little girl who was in my class last year reminding me that her birthday was this week. Of course I had to make her a card. I used this gorgeous Sarah Kay image and coloured it with ink pads and aqua painted. I used SU Scribble This stamp set to make the swirls and flowers. I stamped it in SU Regal Rose and coloured it in with the SU Pretty in Pink ink using my aqua painter. I used So Saffron and Barely Banana for the centre of the flowers and then Kindy Glitz for a bit of sparkle. I added some lace with threaded pink ribbon across the bottom of the card and the DPs are SU Tea Party.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Stamp Something Challenge Blog - A touch of Spring

Stamp With Us - Colour Challenge

I have had a busy week and haven't posted for a few days. I have spent lots of time programming for school on my days off and on my days on, I have been too exhausted to do anything else. Hopefully things will begin to settle down soon.

I hope you have a had a productive and happy week. Thanks for visiting me today.

Thank you card...

My Uncle Kevin is a bee keeper and gives us big jars of the most delicious honey straight from his bees. To say "thank you" for the honey we usually buy him some scratchies. Tonight I made this card to go with the scratchies. I followed the sketch from 2 Sketches For You. I am also entering this card in Stamp Something Challenges ~ Something Cute. I used my cricut cartridge "New Arrival" to cut out the words and the flower. I focused on yellows and browns (the colours of bees). I used some gingham ribbon and threaded it through some lace. I coloured with an ink pad and an aqua painter.

Carol (one of my dear blogging buddies) asked me how my new school is going...well, the answer is very challenging! Lots of things about the school are very different to what I am used to and it is taking me a little while to adjust. Of course I miss all my old colleagues and students...and I am getting used to the set-up of a small school. Positives are: small class numbers (I had ten on Friday), air conditioning, friendly teachers. Negatives are: a high concentration of learning difficulties and behaviour problems. I guess being "new" is always challenging...I am doing my best, and I hope it gets easier!

I did promise to show you a bit more of our new place and here is a photo I took one morning when I got up of a deer staring right at me through the window. He was such a handsome buck I had to take a photo. It was like he had a message for me. After I took the photo he walked back down the paddock.
I hope you had a lovely weekend. Thanks so much for visiting my blog. I love reading your comments...it is so nice to have friendly blogging buddies.

Bikini Girls

Good evening fellow bloggers,

I have two cards to share with you tonight. These cards are for two of my cousins, Clare and Beccy. Clare lives in Mooloolaba and Beccy lives in Hervey Bay (both in Queensland) and so they are sun-loving, tropical girls in their late teens/early twenties. I thought this image "loungin' around" would be appropriate.
I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches for these two cards. But think I missed the deadline - oops!
I hope you had a lovely weekend. We went to Newcastle to visit some friends and had a great time eating out, shopping and relaxing.
Thanks for visiting my blog tonight, and until next time, take care.

Rockin' Roxie

Just a short post tonight as I am hoping to have an early night...in order to have lots of energy for meeting my new students tomorrow.

I made this card today for another ex-student whose birthday is on the weekend. This little girl is a true performer (she loves drama, dancing, singing etc) so I used this digi-image of "Rockin' Roxie". I thought I would enter this card in the "Make it Personal" challenge at One Stop Craft Challenge.
The colours I used are Rose Red and Regal Rose. I followed the sketch from Stamp with Fun and I must say I found it very comfortable to use. The DPs are a bit of a mixture as I used scraps from my stash. I put glitter on her guitar to add some extra sparkle.
Thanks for visiting my blog today....

A card for a special little girl...

This is a card for one of my ex-students. It is her birthday on the weekend and I am sending her this card and a little noteboook as a gift. She is one of those little girls who will always hold a special place in my heart. I wanted to make an extra special card just for her.
I am entering this card in the Quixotic Challenge - "Flutter By" and for this challenge you need to include butterflies. I added some little butterflies that have been in my stash for a long time. I used the SU Next to Navy and Night of Navy card stock and the DP is SU as well. I coloured her with my SU ink pads and Aqua Painter and used the SU markers. I added lots of kindy-glitz to give her some sparkle (it was still wet at the time of the photograph). I threaded some blue ribbon with love-hearts through the lace and stamped the Best Wishes sentiment onto Whisper White card and punched it out. I am also entering this card in the Creative Card Crew Challenge - Punch It!
I spent the morning in town and did some jobs for my Grandparents. They find it hard to get to the shops so I went for them and got all the things they needed. Then we had lunch together. It is so nice to be able to spend more time with them now we are living closer.
I hope you had a lovely Monday. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.
